Labor union: Ford to halt production at Russian plant until Jan
ST. PETERSBURG, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- The U.S.’ Ford plans to suspend production at its Russian plant in the Leningrad Region city of Vsevolozhsk from mid-November until mid-January 2017 due to the lack of sales, Igor Temchenko, a representative of the plant’s labor union, told PRIME on Tuesday.
“The Ford plant in the Leningrad Region plans to suspend production from November 15 through the middle of January due to the absence of sales,” he said.
Ford Sollers, a joint venture between and Russian carmaker Sollers and Ford, did not comment.
The plant, launched in 2002, produces Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo cars.
